It can also be used to treat pregnancy ICP and reduce fatigue caused by chronic liver problems. It also helps reduce joint pain (osteoarthritis), fibromyalgia (severe muscle pain with memory and mood problems), anxiety, depression and other mental illnesses.

Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems before taking HEPTRAL 400MG TABLET. You must tell your doctor if you have bipolar disorder or a history of suicidal thoughts as a premonitory warning.

Vitamins such as folic acid and vitamin B12 are essential for enhancing the effects of S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine in your body. Therefore, as a precaution, inform your doctor if you have vitamin deficiency or anemia. Your doctor may advise you to take B-vitamin supplements (folic acid and vitamin B12) with this medicine.

During treatment with HEPTRAL 400MG TABLET your doctor will regularly monitor your blood levels of ammonia, folic acid and vitamin B12 as a precaution and adjust the dosage accordingly.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, do not take HEPTRAL 400MG TABLET without consulting your doctor. The most common side effects of taking HEPTRAL 400MG TABLET are nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Consult your doctor if they cause you distress.

Stop taking HEPTRAL 400MG TABLET and immediately consult your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects:

Symptoms of serotonin syndrome (such as feeling agitated, hallucinations, confusion, loss of consciousness, fast heart rate, dizziness, increased sweating, flushes, tremors, muscle stiffness or tremors, loss of coordination, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or seizures)

Signs of an allergic reaction (such as skin rash, swelling of the hands, face, tongue, neck or throat, increased fluid in the tissues, fast heart rate, difficulty breathing)

How to manage the side effects 

Nausea and vomiting:

Take this medicine with food or right after. Stick to regular meals. Avoid rich or spicy foods. If nausea worsens, contact your doctor.

Diarrhea:

Drink enough fluids like water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not self-medicate to treat diarrhea without first talking to your doctor. Contact your doctor if the diarrhea gets worse.
